Rear extension and garage conversion

Brief

Our client's property was a semi-detached house with an integral garage. They felt the ground floor was hampered by two conservatory structures that had been constructed across the rear, significantly reducing garden views, natural daylight and ventilation. They wanted a larger kitchen diner with a direct connection to the garden, a better home office space, guest bedroom and to add a ground floor WC.

Design

The design gave the client a new larger kitchen and dining space, achieved by demolishing the two conservatory structures, forming a new single storey extension onto the garden and knocking through to the main house. With a compact shower and WC room located at the back of the kitchen.
At the front, the garage was converted and extended forward to form an office space that could also serve as guest bedroom. This extended garage was combined with a new porch and side access improving the front appearance of the property.
