Cadman Refurbishment​​

Original Design Matters worked in collaboration with Associated Architects to design the refurbishment of Staffordshire University's Cadman building.

 

When considering relocating a large number of staff, Staffordshire University took the opportunity to carefully consider what a modern office should be like.

Working with stakeholders we identified that a much greater emphasis needed to be placed on providing a rich and varied working environment.

​

Whilst pockets of more traditional team desk areas are dotted throughout the scheme, the ratio of space is much more heavily weighted to providing a variety of alternative working, collaboration and socialising spaces. These alternatives allow staff to be more agile, offering the ability to choose the right environment to suit the specific task they are doing, whether that requires collaborating with others or quieter more focussed work.
